Various Special Trains - See these Trains at Brandon
24th April 2010 (Saturday)
Spitfire Railtours ‘The Broadsman’, Crewe to Norwich. The outward journey will have a class 37 and a class 20 diesel, and the return will have two class 37s. Arrival at Norwich is 10.25, which makes a passing time at Brandon of about 9.35 the most likely. The train leaves Norwich at 17.15: passing Brandon any time from 18.00 on. 14th May 2010 (Friday)
UK Railtours The Broadsman (anything going on the Ely-Norwich line is called The Broadsman!) Unlike the previous train which seems to be aimed at railway enthusiasts, this is more like a day out. The haulage is likely to be a class 67 as on a similar tour last year. The last time given is Stevenage 9.15: calculate the time to Brandon from that. 28th May 2010 (Friday)
The ‘Tornado’ is coming through Brandon! Tornado (as seen on TV’s Top Gear) is a brand-new express steam locomotive, built entirely with money from enthusiasts. It is the first new main-line loco on British rails since Evening Star in 1960.
17th September 2010
The Northern Belle (a ‘regional’ version of the luxury British Pullman) will pass through.
